What age can you start dancing?
We welcome all ages and abilities- our beginners start from 3 years old. Really, you can start dancing at any age!
Do you teach adults?
We have yoga and tap classes for adults, you don't have to have any previous experience to begin.
What syllabus do you follow?
What styles of dance do you teach?
We teach ballet, tap, modern and contemporary.
We focus on technique to prepare for our NATD examinations, as well as on developing student's performing abilities for our shows and presentations. And, of course, we encourage everyone to have fun!

Is participating in exams and shows compulsory?
It isn't compulsory, but it is encouraged. Exams and shows are part of the dancing experience- passing an exam gives students a sense of achievement, and performing gives them a chance to show off what they have learnt.
(Note: If students are considering a career in dance, or teaching dance, then exams and shows are compulsory)
What does Bodyworks Dance Studio focus on?
If a student applies themselves, the skills learned in dancing can be carried with them forever!
Do you sell dancewear?
Is the uniform compulsory?
Yes- we sell tights, leotards, unitards, skirts and all types of dance shoes. We only sell genuine dance brands such as Capezio, Bloch, Wear Moi etc.
Tap shoes are available borrow (for trial classes) or rent (for beginners and juniors).
Yes, eventually you will need to purchase uniform:
- For injury prevention, the teacher needs to clearly see any misalignment or wrong technique
- For safety reasons, there mustn't be anything clothing that can interfere with a dancer's mobility
- Set uniform is required for exams
- Matching uniform fosters a sense of unity and teamwork!

When students come for a trial they can wear anything that is easy to move in, such as leggings and a t-shirt, or even a leotard you many have purchased from a sports store.
